“Just Say Hi”……#JustSayHi

Just say Hi…..sounds pretty simple?

Our society has changed in terms of the way in which we communicate on a daily basis, due to technology. Regardless of how many options of ways to communicate that we have available, devices should not take over/interfere with our ability to have a basic interaction with another human being on a daily basis. A basic phone call these days seems like more “effort,” because we don’t exactly “have” to do it,  so we text, and that’s okay, but sometimes we may end up going days/weeks without hearing a  person’s voice. Call me “old fashioned,” but I just can’t get used to taking typed words, “font” at the same value as hearing a person’s voice. Especially when it comes to loved ones.

Although it’s very convenient to be able to text a person to say “Hi, how are you doing today?,” If you have the time, a quick phone call can make a big difference in their day and your day. Yes we are all “busy,” everybody says that, but “Just saying Hi,” can take less than a minute to do…… If need be, just say Hi, and call back when you have the time to have a proper conversation. Because I live a distance from my loves ones,  this habit is a must. It helps me feel closer to them and keeps me in the loop.

#JustSayHi

If a person takes the time to call me, even though they didn’t “have” to, it lets me know that they care enough to make the effort, and I’ll do the same for them 🙂

NEW YEARS DECISIONS, yes, I said, “DECISIONS”

Welcome to 2015. I’m feeling blessed to have made it through 2014, with my health and mind still in tact.

I used to try to write “New Years Resolutions,” I would try to make a list of at least five bad habits or character flaws that I could improve or at least try to, but I realized how difficult it was to go through with them. So now I just consider the “Resolutions” as “Decisions,” that I can actually live out in daily life.

I feel as though 2014 was a test on my ability to forgive people and understand “why” they do the things they do that may offend, upset or  annoy me. Of course I haven’t mastered this ability yet, but it has helped me become more aware of “what” made me feel upset and what causes me to hold on or feel the need to hold a grudge against someone…..I decided to wait and take a step back, pause, before I say something out loud that doesn’t reflect at ALL how I truly feel about the person that has offended me. This tactic is easier said than done. You have to humble yourself,  allow the other person who YOU feel is actually wrong to be “right.” By this I mean to not force your opinion on them. Just let them be……… Continue reading

It’s a New Day! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, if it’s your birthday today :), But if today is just another day for you, the words I’m about to say may help you make the most of your day, even though it’s not your Birthday.

Have you ever had a day where a person in your daily life wronged you in some way that caused you to feel they “ruined” your day? Or things are just not going the way you’d like them to go, and it starts to put a “damper” on your mood&ruin your day? Well of course you have! I know I have….It could be your sister, brother, significant other, boss, the bus driver, a store clerk, or even a stranger who cuts you off while your driving in traffic! Oh you go the whole day telling everyone&anyone that common phrase, “I’m having a BAD day.”

Now, I have been guilty of saying that phrase in the past, however, as I’ve grown and matured as a woman into my 30’s, I’ve learned that “BAD” days are not as “BAD” as we sometimes  make them out to be. A “BAD” day is usually a few occurrences that happened in the day that you didn’t expect to happen, and you had to get through them to complete your day, which actually is “LIFE.”

So when I have a “BAD” day, I remind myself that I’m still alive& kicking and I am surviving the “BAD” day so I’ll be able to move on to the NEXT day, which will most likely be better than that”BAD” day I had yesterday lol….It’s not about being  “Optimistic” but REALISTIC 😉 If you practice this way of thinking everyday, then you will feel like everyday is your Birthday, you’ll appreciate and make the most of your day, EVERYDAY!
